Ninth District
Republicans gathered at Ft. Chiswell High School in Wythe County and
selected Morgan Griffith to be their nominee in the November General
Election for Congress in the Ninth District of Virginia.
Griffith has served in the Virginia House of Delegates since 1994.
He represents the city of Salem and portions of Roanoke County.
Additionally, Griffith is currently the Majority Leader, having
served in this post since 2000.
Griffith is a member of the House Courts of Justice and Militia,
Police and Public Safety Committees, and serves as Vice Chairman of
the Rules Committee. He is also a member of the Joint Legislative
Audit and Review Commission and serves as Chairman of the Virginia
Freedom of Information Advisory Council.
Griffith is a graduate of Emory & Henry College and the Washington &
Lee University School of Law.
